Manage large scale multi-nodes Cassandra cluster environments residing on AWS. Handle all Cassandra environment builds, including design, capacity planning, cluster setup, performance tuning and ongoing monitoring. Perform high-level, day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for the Cassandra database. Creation of key performance metrics, measuring the utilization, performance and overall health of the cluster. Capacity planning and implementation of new/upgraded hardware and software releases as well as for storage infrastructure. Research and recommend innovative, and where possible, automated approaches for system administration tasks. Ability to closely calibrate with product managers and lead engineers. Provide guidance in the creation and modification of standards and procedures. Ensure existing data/information assets are secure and adhering to a best in class security model. Manage backup and recovery functions. Proactively monitor and setup alerting mechanism for both database and supporting hardware to ensure system health and maximum availability.

We are adding another member to our security team at either our Deerfield or Chicago Loop location to further extend and protect an already highly secure environment. As an Information Security Engineer at Vail, you'll review security alerts, analyze security threats, find vulnerabilities, and offer solutions. You will also participate in projects requiring full security assessments, including reports on findings and proposals for improvement. Analyzes requirements/designs and determines test scripts, coding, automation, and integration activities required based on general objectives and knowledge of the overall architecture of product or solution. Designs and builds test environments and data sets. Represents the software quality engineering team for all phases of larger and more-complex development projects. Collaborates and communicates with team and management regarding test status, project progress, and issue resolution. Maintain awareness of current development, deployment tools, programming languages, testing, commercial and open source offerings of interest and general development trends.

Create and maintain test automation to cover at least 90% of all features across multiple web applications. Work with the customer service team to triage and research incoming defects. Analyze, document, and track defects in our defect tracking system. Provide assistance to the engineering team related to manually testing components and features that are either not automated or require additional human review.

Help build and deploy tools and systems that assist GoHealth's Engineering, QA, and Operations team, to deliver high-quality software. Work with development to help evolve our continuous delivery process. Monitor and respond to alerts from technology infrastructure in order to ensure proper SLA's are met. Work throughout the technology stack to design, build, and monitor solutions that allow for continued scalability. Document work associated with troubleshooting, while utilizing problem solving skills. Remain flexible. Have a strong sense of ownership for system uptime and performance.
