Job Description

Reporting directly to the Controller and managing a small team, the Revenue Manager is responsible for revenue and accounts receivable at SilkRoad, a SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) company. This is a mixed technical, commercial, and operational role. This role is visible across the business and works closely with the Controller, Director of Finance, and company leadership to ensure appropriate revenue recognition, report and analyze key metrics, and support the sales team.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Accounting
    • Review customer contracts, ensure appropriate revenue recognition, record contract and commissions information, and report sales information.
    • Partner with the sales and customer success teams to ensure accuracy of contract information in Salesforce and consistency with accounting system.
    • Oversee customer invoicing, accounts receivable, cash application, and collections. Resolve and escalate risk areas, as needed.
    • Month end close, including revenue recognition, deferred revenue, and accounts receivable.
    • Provide requested documents and information related to revenue and accounts receivable during the annual financial audit.
    • Analysis and implementation of new revenue standards and interpretations.
  • Reporting
    • Weekly reporting of bookings and renewals to finance and executive management.
    • Monthly reporting and analysis of bookings, GAAP revenue, recurring revenue, and backlog.
    • Quarterly board reporting of revenue, bookings, and renewals.
  • General
    • Manage and develop the revenue team.
    • Assess processes and implement improvements to controls, processes and reporting.
    • Prepare and review additional analysis and reports, and other special projects, as requested.
Required Skills
  • Strong analytical and technical revenue recognition skills required. CPA required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organization and time management skills and an ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP, is a plus. Experience implementing new accounting systems is a plus.
  • Experience with Salesforce and / or CPQ (Configuration-Price-Quote) software is desirable.
Required Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
  • Minimum of five years’ accounting experience, preferably in both public accounting and corporate environments, and experience managing people.
  • Experience working in a SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) or other technology company.
