Senior Communications Manager

About the Position

Maropost is looking for a talented individual to join our growing marketing team and serve as the senior communications manager. If you choose to accept, your mission will succeed at collaborating with executives, marketers, products, customer success, and all other team members to hone Maropost’s story, vision, value proposition, product strategy and roadmap into easily digestible content for press, analysts, industry influencers, investors, partners, agencies, employees, and all other Maropost constituents. You’ll be tasked with telling the Maropost story to all levels of external stakeholders, across geographies and markets, and through all channels, in an exceptional and inspiring fashion.

In this role, you’ll lead the planning, development and execution of marketing communications, public relations, press and analyst relations, internal communications, investor communications, social media channels, and all other Maropost company communications activities. You’ll oversee offline community building and networking to drive thought leadership and mindshare. You’ll oversee executive speaking and awards programs. You’ll engage with product marketing to develop PR and promotional campaign and participate in editorial planning with interactive content marketing to ensure consistency in messaging while tailoring the content to target audiences by geography and/or industry segment. You’ll provide measurement and analysis of all Maropost communication activities. You’ll be responsible for building the MaropostCARES image and story as our philanthropic arm grows and develops.

Over the first three months, this candidate should develop knowledge of our business, research and monitor Maropost’s communications activities, and take ownership of all external and internal corporate communications channels. The senior communication manager works with Maropost’s internal marketing team, our product team, other go-to-market departments, and outside partners and stakeholders to ensure Maropost’s communications are strong, differentiated, impactful, and timely. While doing so, this leader is directly responsible for cementing Maropost as an innovator and leader in our market via all public relations, analyst relations, and community relations activities.

Your Opportunity

  • Become the communicative force behind Maropost’s brand, story, and positive perception in the market
  • Own Maropost’s brand identity, messaging, and positioning
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams to develop compelling communications strategies, with an emphasis on product launches and national announcements that tell the Maropost story to a wide and diverse audience
  • Devise and execute PR strategy and communications guidance to support announcements of new national partners, products, and key technology milestones
  • Drive Maropost’s relationship with our communications agency partner
  • Lead thought leadership for the company; identifying and coordinating speaking opportunities that advance our partnerships and product narratives while widening our executive leadership bench
  • Manage press inquiries, support in prepping spokespeople, and staff briefings and speaking events
  • Coordinate the scheduling of analyst briefings; maintain analyst report schedules to ensure Maropost is aware of - and included in - relevant research opportunities; seek (or have your agency seek) relationships with new industry analysts who cover the market by introducing Maropost to relevant researchers; and ensure analysts get what they need for upcoming reports (via the production of a monthly analyst newsletter)
  • Run point to ensure Maropost’s Executive Team is handling briefings to manage analysts’ perception of Maropost’s technology
  • Ensure Maropost takes full advantage of its analyst contracts
  • Develop and maintain close, productive relationships with analysts, journalists, key partners, and other influencers in the business and tech press while educating them on Maropost’s business and latest innovations
  • Train and provide advice to Maropost spokespeople to prepare them for press events and media interviews
  • Develop and maintain Maropost’s Crisis Communication Plan and detailed process
  • Develop impactful content, including writing blog posts, op-eds and presentations
  • Work closely with brand marketing and social media, content, programs, and events leads to advance our business
  • Manage all Maropost company and corporate executive social media channels, and facilitate employee amplification of Maropost’s social media activity

  • External marketing communications materials
  • Internal communications materials
  • Executive and company presentations
  • Build your team, and build into your team a world-class brand communications mentality

What You'll Need to Bring to Maropost

The right person will have a balance of design, animation, video production, and marketing communications experience. In addition, the ideal candidate is an experienced video creative with strong business communications skills and driven by metrics aligned with Maropost’s customer acquisition objectives. This results-driven person will have experience establishing and measuring marketing tactics/strategies.

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7-10 years of professional PR experience; in-house and agency experience required 
  • Experience developing PR strategies and executing corporate and consumer communications campaigns 
  • Deep understanding of product, corporate and consumer communications
  • Strong media contacts across business, consumer, and technology press
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead and manage multiple time-sensitive projects under tight deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (strong writer required) 
  • Results oriented: demonstrating intellect, strong work ethic
  • Meticulous attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfortable with public speaking
  • Ability to travel and work flexible hours; must be able to work long hours as needed for events and specific projects
  • A sense of urgency and desire to work and win with a team of smart, hard-working and collaborative people
  • Ability to build a strategic plan and clearly tie interactive content deliverables to full funnel marketing goals, and ultimately pipeline growth and achievement
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders and all levels of management
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment and willing to travel
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with quick deadlines
  • Strong project management, negotiation and decision-making skills
  • Use expertise and creativity for innovative marketing recommendations and solutions
