Ideas, expertise, and intellectual property are the building blocks of product innovation. Companies source these assets from partners around the world and combine them in much the same way that manufacturers combine parts. However, unlike physical supply chains, there has never been a way to identify the best suppliers, map network relationships, or gain strategic insights. Wellspring software changes that. Over 500 organizations rely on Wellspring to identify emerging technologies, act on partner opportunities, and avoid disruption.

Why Work With Us

Every half hour 150 scientific articles are published and 700 patents are filed. Companies need to pay attention to these discoveries or they will miss the next breakthrough in their industry. Wellspring is the only software that connects businesses to innovation ecosystems and the only software that allows them to see disruption before its too late. As a result, our industry is growing at a breakneck pace and we need tenacious, smart, and creative people to help lead the way. If you want to challenge the status quo, if you embrace change and thrive in emerging markets, or if you want to be part of something new and potentially game changing, Wellspring is the place for you. — Wellspring was founded in 2003 as a spin-out of Carnegie Mellon University and led the academic technology transfer market for over a decade. In late 2014 we leveraged our expertise in academic research to create the only comprehensive corporate innovation software on the market. Since then we have continued to change the way companies find, evaluate, and acquire new technologies.

Culture

Wellspring is a software company without bureaucracy. We encourage bold ideas, flexibility, and honest communication. We are looking for employees who are willing to take risks and speak up when they feel strongly about something. The engineering teams are friendly, outgoing, and experts in agile software development. Team members have mostly come from other small or midsized companies with a roughly 50/50 mix of recent hires and long term employees. The sales and marketing teams are made up of professionals who left large software companies for the chance to make an immediate impact in an exciting new market. The sales and marketing teams are focused, experienced, and dedicated to capitalizing on Wellspring's unique opportunity. The customer success and project management teams are masters of understanding complex products, navigating emerging industries, and overcoming new obstacles every day. They work together on long term projects and short term issues and have fantastic rapport with our corporate and academic customers. Wellspring is the place to work if you want to experience building a truly unique product in a truly unique market. Our office is located in River North with easy access to public transit and Metra lines. We have regular social events including whirly-ball, scavenger hunts, bowling, and weekly happy hour. The office is stocked with soft drinks, ping pong and an arcade machine with 30+ games.
